This is Joel’s first painting! He painted it for me for our anniversary last year. It’s amazing to both of us, the artistic talent God created Joel with, that we didn’t even know about!

This is Joel’s second painting. It is of a tribal hut in the Panare village where he grew up. He painted it as a gift for his parents.  The detail in the actual work is astounding.

  • I already commented on this, but I was just thinking that 5 years ago you would have been baffled if someone had said “your husband is going to send you a painting he did for your anniversary”, You would have wondered at the “send” and Joel painting? But here I see God mixing the blessings right in with the sorrow. Discovering his talent for art was tied in with all you have gone through. There are many of those gems you’ve shared with me and I wonder is there a record in heaven of the “gifts” God is sending you? Will there come a day when like the song says “it will be worth it all”? will these trials ever “seem so small?” If eternity is as long as I think it is the answer is yes and I think your life is already a huge testimony to the truth that knowing God is “worth it all” whatever that “all” may be. You are a bright and shining light of faith to me my dear sister.

  • When I look at this picture I see a landscape that looks cold, barren, harsh, a bit scary and sorrowful; but the lady under the tree has a since of bold beauty and strength, she is what brings life and color to the picture… my dear friend, this is you in your circumstances! What a LOVELY picture Joel has portrayed of YOU his strong, beautiful wife!!! Hang in there, you are a living testimony to God’s wonders and unsearchable ways… HE IS SO FAITHFUL AND GOOD.. IN ALL THINGS!!

    • Thanks for your poetic description of Joel’s painting. You have captured the essence of the message he hoped to portray. I read this to Joel tonight when he called, and he loved it. God’s wonders and unsearchable ways–you and I have not come close to plumbing the depths even in all we have experienced. HE IS GOOD AND HE DOES ONLY GOOD!

  • Your courage is shining Tabitha through the trial. How the enemy of both your souls want to destroy all evidence of Joel gift…good for you girl for looking the threat in the face and posting anyway…good for you.

  • Is Joel inspired by a verse when he is painting? he should write that verse down when and if he is and then someday these paintings can be printed with that scripture on them and sold. I would buy one.

  • Has he ever heard from God to try and sell his paintings? It could possibly be used as God’s provision for your family.
