My Life

I was born the United States, but raised in Venezuela, South America. My parents, Chuck and Darlene Marshall, are missionaries whose ministry led them to the remote jungles of Venezuela. I loved growing up at the school base for missionary children. I loved the freedom of the outdoors, the beauty of my surroundings, and the simplicity of life. Joel and I met when we were kids and grew up together in this paradise we called TamaTama.

Joel and I were best friends in middle school, and spent a lot of time together. When I was 15 Joel and I began a dating relationship. I knew I would spend the rest of my life with him even at that young age. What a thrill to take that step and promise forever to one another, in July, 1993. (Eeks! I am getting old!)

Twenty two years later, I am so thankful for the gift God has given us both in each other.  We have walked through a painful time of loss and separation, through which our hearts have grown closer both to God an each other. Today Joel is home and is living in repentant victory.

We have three children:

Marshall is 17 and has had his own website since he was 11. I will add his link to my page soon so you can check it out. He has a passion for the lost and wants to share Jesus with others. That is the driving force behind his website. Marshall is a “techy” kid who knows a lot more than I do about computers and websites. Of course that’s not saying much! Marshall will be taking his first overseas mssions’ trip in August of 2015.

Jaden is 13 years old. He’s a very active middle schooler with a tender heart, disguised behind a great bravado. Jaden makes friends easily and loves spending an afternoon biking, throwing a football, swimming, and (is this any surprise?) playing video games. Jaden loves the Lord and has a tender heart for marginalized or overlooked kids. He is a great companion to his little brother.

Roman is our precious baby who is no longer really a baby. He’s seven, and headed into the second grade. Roman has become an excellent reader and has been excited to discover he can read the Bible for himself. He is also active, funny, and very insightful.

What a joy to have such a precious family! I am so blessed!
